Charlie Vogt joined DZS as President and CEO in August 2020, bringing two decades of experience as a CEO and over 30 years of professional experience in executing visionary strategies that resulted in unprecedented growth in communications markets.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Vogt was president and CEO of four companies: ATX Networks, a global leader of optical access networking and media distribution solutions, Imagine Communications, a world-leading provider of video software and unified distribution solutions, GENBAND (now Ribbon Communications), a global leader in IP networking and software solutions, and Taqua, a market leader in softswitch technology. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vogt was instrumental in the operational and financial growth of several of standard-setting technology companies which included ADTRAN and Ascend Communications that either became public companies or were acquired.

Mr. Vogt holds a B.S. in Economics and Computer Science from Saint Louis University.



Misty Kawecki has been Chief Financial Officer of DZS since August 2021, bringing over 24 years of finance and accounting experience to the CFO role.

Previously, Ms. Kawecki served as CFO and Head of Operations for MediaKind and prior to that, she was VP, Finance and Corporate Controller at Imagine Communications. She also served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller at GENBAND and Senior Director, WW Revenue Controller at McAfee (Intel). She started her career at Big 4 accounting firm EY.

Ms. Kawecki has a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.



Jay Hilbert serves DZS as Chief Revenue Officer of Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Before joining DZS, Mr. Hilbert served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at RigNet, a global provider of digital technology solutions including broadband connectivity, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) for global enterprise customers. Prior to RigNet, he was SVP of Sales at CommScope Holding Company, Inc., a global provider of wireless solutions, where he was responsible for sales of the first O-RAN product for LTE. Mr. Hilbert was also the first Global SVP of Sales for Cambium Networks (a spin out of Motorola), which provided Fixed Wireless Access technology for rural broadband coverage. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hilbert also served as SVP of Sales at Nokia and Jabil.

Mr. Hilbert has a Bachelor of Science in engineering management from the University of North Dakota.



Bill Ko serves DZS as Chief Revenue Officer of Asia. He joined the company in December 2020, bringing over 25 years of telecommunications and cable industry experience across the Asia Pacific region to DZS. He is based at the DZS Pangyo, South Korea center of excellence.

Before joining DZS, Mr. Ko was the Vice President of Sales at Active Video, where he managed and led the sales and sales engineering teams to implement Long Range Plan (LRP) and develop and sustain direct and indirect channel sales covering convergence technologies such as cloud TV and AppCloud solutions. Before Active Video, Mr. Ko served for ten years as Vice President of Pan Asia Sales for ARRIS Group, Inc., where he developed channel sales covering convergence technologies that included headend, cloud, transport and customer premises equipment solutions. While at ARRIS, he also developed significant new revenue opportunities, most notably in Australia with Telstra, which ultimately led to breakthrough sales with the Australia National Broadband Network.

Mr. Ko holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology.



Andrew Bender serves as Chief Technology Officer for DZS, where he is responsible for developing, coordinating, and promoting the technology strategy for the company. He joined DZS in October 2020 to help expand the solutions space for DZS to SDN, mobile broadband and 5G technologies.

Mr. Bender has over 20 years of broad ranging experience in the carrier networking, infrastructure and software sectors spanning Kubernetes and cloud native, webscale applications, NFV, SDN, mobile access / edge / core, video and streaming media, IMS / RCS, DOCSIS, multiservice access and transport network technology areas.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Bender led the team of technologists covering the service provider industry in the Americas at VMWare. He has also held various technology, strategy, solutions, architecture and engineering roles at Hewlett Packard, NEC, Ribbon Communications / GENBAND, and others.



Daniel Won serves as Chief Product Officer at DZS. Mr. Won joined DZS in September 2016 as President of DNS Korea in connection with the Merger of Zhone Technologies and DASAN Networks.

Mr. Won brings over thirty years of experience in the telecommunications marketplace across several disciplines, including executive management, engineering and sales. Prior to his roles with DZS, Mr. Won held various executive positions at LG and Cisco Systems.

Mr. Won holds an M.B.A. from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), and a B.S. from Seoul National University.



Miguel Alonso serves DZS as the Vice President of Global Product Management. Before joining DZS, Mr. Alonso served as Vice President of Cloud Products and Product Management at Calix, where he led the company’s product transformation from hardware only offerings to cloud, software, and systems products. Mr. Alonso has also served in multiple senior product, marketing, and sales executive positions with Nortek Control (IoT and Automation for intelligent residential and commercial spaces), (artificial intelligence driven MarTech/AdTech solutions for mobile service providers) and Advanced Fibre Communications (telecom access products).

Mr. Alonso has an Engineering Degree in Telecommunications from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (Spain)



Dr. Seung Dong (SD) Lee serves as Chief Architect, Office of CTO for DZS, leading the team responsible for system/software design, development initiatives for global R&D activities, creation/management of intellectual property and decision on technology evolution strategy. Dr. Lee joined DZS in September 2016 in connection with the Merger of Zhone Technologies and DASAN Network Solutions, where he also served as CTO.

Dr. Lee was a pioneer in implementing MMU-awareness for embedded debugger while he was working for Mentor Graphics ESD. Dr. Lee also played a significant role in proving the viability of embedded Linux as a platform for network operating system before Linux gained wide acceptance and popularity. Dr. Lee also lead IP-DSLAM and ATCA blade development while DASAN was a subsidiary company of Siemens / Nokia Siemens Networks.

Dr. Lee holds a Ph. D from Seoul National University.



Mike Martin joined DZS as Executive Vice President of Global Operations in September 2020. He brings with him a diverse background of experience and a proven ability to build and develop high performance teams that create a sustainable competitive advantage. Before joining DZS, Mr. Martin served as Chief Procurement Officer for ARRIS/Commscope, a global provider of networking equipment and infrastructure products. Prior to that experience, he was Vice President, Supply Chain and Procurement at ADTRAN. Mr. Martin has also served in variety of senior operations, product, business development, marketing, sales and engineering roles at Beacon, ADTRAN, Calix and Sprint. Before embarking on his career in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Martin served as an Officer in the United States Coast Guard.

Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the United States Coast Guard Academy.



Keith Nauman serves as SVP Global Services for DZS, responsible for providing 24×7 technical support and professional services for DZS solutions across the globe. For more than 30 years, Mr. Nauman has served in leadership roles focusing on the definition, design, development, test and support of voice and data communications products.

Mr. Nauman’s career spans three major technology waves for residential Internet Access: Dial Modems, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), and Fiber To The Home (FTTH). Mr. Nauman has held executive level roles at DZS or its predecessor companies which were all leaders in these aforementioned technologies (AT&T Bell Laboratories, Paradyne, and Zhone Technologies), since June 1986.

Mr. Nauman holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Monmouth University in Eatontown, NJ.



Geoff Burke serves as Chief Marketing Officer for DZS. A renowned marketer and recognized industry visionary, he joined DZS in April 2020 and has brought a wealth of experience in leading marketing transformations and championing major communications industry initiatives to the company, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at Broadband Forum.

Prior to joining Broadband Forum, Mr. Burke led Corporate Marketing at Calix, responsible for the Calix brand and company messaging worldwide. Mr. Burke has also held a variety of senior marketing, strategy, and operational roles at Motorola/Next Level Communications, The McKenna Group, KPMG Consulting, and Oracle Corporation.

Mr. Burke holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.



Darrin Whitney joined DZS as Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer in September 2020, bringing more than 25 years of experience managing large-scale integration projects, including acquisitions, SOX compliance, and implementing global technology strategy.

Prior to DZS, Mr. Whitney was most recently CIO at Ericsson Media Solutions (MediaKind), a multi-national enterprise media technology company. He also have been CIO at CVR Energy, GENBAND (now Ribbon Communications), and Dresser, Inc./General Electric. Earlier in his career, Mr. Whitney managed Global Systems projects for Excel Communications and KPMG’s Fortune 500 customers.

Mr. Whitney holds a B.A. in Financial Administration from Michigan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Laura Larsen-Misunas, CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER


Laura Larsen-Misunas serves as Chief People Officer for DZS. Mrs. Larsen-Misunas has held several progressively advancing administration and human resources management roles since joining DZS in 2000, for a total of more than twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Most recently at Ascend Communications, she established the company’s first Risk Management department, managing day to day cash, long term investments, and the foreign exchange program. Prior to Ascend, Mrs. Larsen-Misunas was a successful account manager and executive in the financial and insurance industries, having worked for Marsh and Willis.

Mrs. Larsen-Misunas holds a B.S. in Marketing from California State University San Francisco.



Justin Ferguson serves as Chief Legal Officer at DZS, responsible for the company’s global legal activities and policies. In addition, Mr. Ferguson serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and is responsible for all corporate governance matters. He joined DZS in September 2020 and brings more than 17 years of legal experience which includes advising companies in the telecom, technology and cloud security space.

Prior to joining DZS, Mr. Ferguson was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to Ribbon Communications Inc, a Nasdaq listed company that provides real time communications software and packet and optical transport solutions . Prior to Ribbon, Mr. Ferguson served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Zix Corporation, a Nasdaq listed company that provides email and cloud security solutions. Mr. Ferguson began his career as a corporate attorney at the law firms of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Baker Botts L.L.P.

Mr. Ferguson received a Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
